Last fall it was iPhone thieves. This fall will it be sleazy card swindlers? Two female students — one last Friday on Fordham Road, and the other Monday afternoon at Fordham Plaza — were lured into 3-card monte games and then robbed of a total $1,040, according to school officials.

Football starts the season strong — routs St. Francis University

Fordham: 52 St. Francis University: 23 Fordham’s football team fired on all cylinders Saturday night in a 52-23 rout over the St. Francis Red Flash. The Rams, ranked #13 in Athlon Sports’ preseason poll, dominated St. Francis on both sides of the ball and carried a 38-3 lead into the fourth quarter.

Fordham grad, 28, appears to have ended his life on campus

Nahom Kidanemariam, GSB ’09, was discovered dead Monday morning by an unsuspecting senior in a communal bathroom on the third floor of the Lowenstein Center, an academic building on Fordham’s Lincoln Center campus, university officials said in a statement. He was 28.
