BRING UMBRELLAS: Reports predict rain for outdoor graduation

Better bring an umbrella!

A variety of weather reports are predicting rain for Saturday morning and afternoon — just in time for Fordham’s outdoor graduation.

The Bronx will see “a steady rain in the morning…continuing showers in the afternoon” on Saturday, with a 70% chance of precipitation, according to a report from the Weather Channel.

As of Monday afternoon, there was a 65% chance of rain in the Bronx on Saturday, according to AccuWeather. The National Weather Service predicted a 40% chance of rain with plenty of clouds and a high of 74 degrees.

Fordham officials say they will try to have the commencement ceremony on Edward’s Parade “because we do not have one indoor facility that is large enough to hold all our graduates and guests,” according to the Commencement Guide.

“Please be aware that if there is just a little rain or periodic showers, the ceremony will likely remain outside. Therefore, please plan ahead and carry an umbrella, wear sensible shoes and bring a nice sense of humor.”
