SWEET VICTORY! THE SUITS to open Spring Weekend Concert

The Suits, an indie pop/electronic band that formed at Rose Hill in 2011, was selected by popular vote to open this year’s Spring Weekend Concert on Saturday, April 25.

The band was one of ten that competed for the coveted opening act slot during Saturday night’s annual Battle of the Bands contest at Rodrigues.

The Suits features Rose Hill seniors: Eddie Gore as lead singer, Mike Sanz as drum machine player, Eric Grossman as lead guitarist and Devon Sheridan as bass player.

CAB is set to announce the concert’s headlining act(s) early in the coming week, sources with knowledge of the organization’s plans told Fordham Daily.

The groups who competed in this year’s competition included: Radwagon, illegal fish market, The Suits, Mr. Legs, Konigsburg, Understudy, Braun, Hellatross, Second Child, Wooderson.

Second Child defeated the competition last year and opened the 2014 Spring Weekend Concert for Cartel and Cold War Kids.

Sal Natale, the famed owner of Pugsley’s Pizza, made an appearance at the start of Saturday night’s concert. He entertained the crowd with his saxophone.
