Kira Kazantsev of New York won the Miss America crown Sunday night — giving the state its third straight title.
“It would be a monumental three-peat,” she told the New York Post before the pageant. “My game plan is to be myself and have a great time.”
Her next stop? Fordham Law School, where she has already been accepted.
Kazantsev says no matter the outcome of Sunday night, the Califonia native plans to pursue a Fordham law degree.
She recently revealed that she had been abused by an ex-boyfriend while an undergrad at Hofstra. She now volunteers at Safe Horizon, a domestic-violence support group.
Acacia Courtney, FCLC ’15, competed in Sunday night’s competition as Miss Connecticut, The Observer reported.
