Fordham received more than 40,000 undergrad applications this year, breaking a school record and signaling a victory, officials say, for the recent developments made at Lincoln Center’s campus.
“The 40,535 applications received by Jan. 23 mark a 14 percent increase over the 35,444 received by that date last year,” a statement from Fordham said. Those numbers comprise applications to Fordham College at Rose Hill, Fordham College at Lincoln Center and the Gabelli School of Business at both campuses.
This is the twenty-third consecutive year in which the number of undergraduate applications has grown, according to John W. Buckley, the University’s associate vice president for enrollment.
“The academic programs are certainly playing a role in this growth,” he said in a statement. “The other critical element, of course, is the fact that we’re now going to have a beautiful new residential facility for freshmen at Lincoln Center,” he said, referring to the 400-bed dormitory opening in the fall.
