Rejoice: For the first time in 50 years, a brewery is opening up near Rose Hill.
Gun Hill Brewing is expected to celebrate its grand opening next month in Allerton, a section of the Bronx that is on the other side of the Botanical Gardens in relation to Rose Hill’s campus.
The brewery plans to begin with 2,000 barrels in its first year of production, and will distribute ale and lagers to restaurants and other companies throughout the city, according to News 12.
“We have unique equipment that will allow us to make beer with pronounced character. We’re going to have hot flavor in our beers, top-quality ingredients,” Chris Cheehan, one of the brewery’s owners, told News 12.
